The Dock Coordinator is responsible for accurate inspection, data collection, data entry, shipping, receiving, and documentation of all inventory transactions. This position maintains an orderly warehouse and dock environment in accordance with sanitation standards, including Feeding America and American Institute of Baking (AIB) guidelines. The Dock Coordinator also assists with inventory counts and works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, vendors, and partners to support the efficient movement of food throughout the organization.

Job responsibilities
  • Accurately gather, document, and enter inventory data into the Ceres ERP system.
  • Weigh, count, inspect, and document all inbound shipments.
  • Accurately record food donations and purchased inventory from a variety of donors and vendors.
  • Collaborate closely with the Food Sourcing Department to maintain accurate information and data tracking.
  • Tag all inventory with appropriate pallet labels to ensure inventory accuracy and traceability.
  • Safely unload and load inbound and outbound shipments and move products to designated storage or distribution locations.
  • Verify freight for quantity, quality, infestation, damage, and food safety compliance.
  • Maintain receiving logs and supporting documentation.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and store inventory.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of all warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and receiving/shipping dock.
  • Adhere to Feeding America, AIB, and Food Bank of the Rockies sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Communicate equipment maintenance or operational concerns to the Warehouse Equipment and Sustainability Supervisor.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications and RF technology to support inventory management and operational efficiency.
  • Process outbound loads and ensure manifests and bills of lading are completed accurately.
  • Support Distribution, Reclamation, Transportation, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist with scheduled inventory counts and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others
  • Commitment to fulfilling Food Bank of the Rockies mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, printers, ERP systems, and warehouse technology.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and follow-through skills.
  • Self-directed and results-oriented work style.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, think critically, solve problems, and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management processes.
  • Ability to work efficiently within established schedules and operational demands.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s degree a plus; or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in warehouse, receiving, shipping, or dock operations required
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Food warehousing experience preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse technology, including RF scanners, WMS applications, ERP systems, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams preferred.
