Distribution Specialist

Lakeshore Talent is in search of a Distribution Specialist for a contract opportunity supporting a busy warehouse and distribution operation in Aurora, Colorado. This role is ideal for someone with warehouse or manufacturing experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, operating equipment, and ensuring orders are selected and fulfilled accurately and efficiently.

What You'll Do

This position will primarily focus on order fulfillment and warehouse operations, with additional administrative and equipment responsibilities.

Order Fulfillment & Selection - 60%

  • Pull and select product orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Store, stage, and pack products for distribution.
  • Pull large delivery and mobile pantry orders according to priority.
  • Verify order accuracy and pallet counts.
  • Keep picking locations stocked, organized, and efficient.
  • Restock products according to established storage guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory counts and researching inventory discrepancies.
  • Work closely with inventory staff to ensure picking locations and inventory are accurate.
  • Train and direct volunteers on order selection and safe distribution procedures.

Administrative/Data Entry - 30%

  • Enter inventory and replenishment information.
  • Update the replenishment system.
  • Verify pick bins and inventory information.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate warehouse records and inventory data.

Equipment Operation - 10%

  • Operate rider jacks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Replenish distribution bins using a stand-up forklift.
  • Move pallets and products throughout the warehouse.
  • Assist with pulling products from warehouse storage to designated pick locations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly warehouse.
  • Monitor the picking area and ensure only authorized staff and volunteers are present.
  • Secure the distribution area at the end of each shift.
  • Follow established food storage, warehouse, safety, and quality standards.
  • Work in refrigerated or freezer areas when necessary.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or similar experience.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete orders and inventory-related tasks.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the majority of the shift, with intermittent sitting.
  • Regularly lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from the floor to waist and overhead.
  • Ability to push and pull pallets weighing up to 2,000 pounds using a manual pallet jack.
  • Daily operation of heavy equipment, including forklifts, stand-up/sit-down lift trucks, step-up pallet jacks, and automatic pallet jacks.
  • Warehouse environment where temperatures may vary; the facility is primarily cold.
  • Ability to occasionally work in refrigerator and freezer areas.
