Job Description Responsibilities
  • Join Baker Tilly as a Tax Manager with our Not for Profit team, delivering tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to Non‑Profit clients.
  • Work side‑by‑side with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, having a direct impact on the firm’s success.
  • Coach a group of talented staff, utilizing experience to help develop their technical and professional skills.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor, working face‑to‑face with clients to find creative solutions to complex accounting and business challenges.
  • Lead and plan client engagements, continuously evaluating processes and procedures to implement efficiencies and identify internal control issues.
  • Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on knowledge gained relative to the client’s operations and objectives.
  • Manage and build client relationships, acting as liaison to address and resolve client issues, and assisting team leaders in researching and providing additional services.
  • Effectively delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines to meet delivery expectations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws.
  • Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billing/collections, and ensuring client profitability targets are met.
  • Network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.
  • Invest in professional development individually and through participation in firm‑wide learning and development programs.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree (Master’s or advanced degree desirable).
  • CPA, Law License, or Enrolled Agent.
  • Five (5) years of experience providing corporate tax compliance, accounting, and advisory services in a professional services firm.
  • Non‑Profit industry experience preferred (but not required).
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and quality.
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
Compensation

The national pay rate range is: $91,220 – $172,990. In California, the pay rate range is: $112,500 – $172,950. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
