The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity seeks an experienced Program Accounting Manager to supervise the Reconciliations unit and oversee accounting operations for state and federally funded grant programs. The role involves managing 2-5 staff, preparing grant financial reports, maintaining general ledgers exceeding $200 million, and ensuring compliance with Federal Uniform Guidance and state grant accountability requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with leadership skills and knowledge of grant administration.
KeyQualifications
- Four years of college in business, public administration, finance, or accounting
- Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience in a public or business organization
- Three or more years of government accounting experience (preferred)
- Three or more years of grant administration experience (preferred)
- One or more years of supervisory experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of Federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and state Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA)
