Description:Perform duties to support the National School Lunch Program and District auxiliary transportation services.

Job Summary:

  • Establish procedures for the effective management of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
  • Develop, maintain, and submit accurate records and reports in compliance with the NSLP.
  • Schedule and oversee site reviews to ensure that all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards are being met. Complete the verification process and submit ISBE applications for NSLP annually for each school in the district.
  • Process and maintain all applications for the NSLP and ensure that Push Coin records follow the NSLP regulations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for schools in supporting lunch order exceptions. This includes field trip box lunches, daily meal accommodations, and all out of district meals to students with NSLP benefits.
  • Manage and monitor the grant expenditures and NSLP budget annually.
  • Responsible for monitoring vendors and auditing invoices to ensure product and cost specifications are being honored.
  • Coordinate and oversee the training of lunchroom supervisors for all schools to ensure compliance with all federal regulations regarding nutrition, distribution, and accounting of meals, as required by the NSLP.
  • Responsible for reviewing, ensuring accuracy and submitting the monthly NSLP reimbursement claim with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
  • Manage the school activity bus permit process and maintain the appropriate driver files.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and cleaning of the activity busses.
  • Act as a liaison between building administration and the support operation vendors to continue to develop and enhance these programs.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, documents, invoices, and memos working from notes and direction. Compose routine correspondence on own.
  • Will assist the director in preparing the annual budget, bid development, and long range planning.
  • Attend required support operations meetings, trainings, and participate in ongoing professional development. Maintain current knowledge of the NSLP guidelines.
  • User personal computer and general office equipment to effectively manage and organize files, communication, records, and databases.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Solid and diverse technical or support experience preferred.

Rate of Pay: $/hour based on experience
Working Conditions: Office at district office.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Travel between schools, across district is required

Rate of pay: $22.50/hour

Selection Procedure: Qualified candidates will be contacted by the appropriate building administrator. After an initial interview with a building administrator, final candidates wil be referred to the Human Resources Department to be scheduled for and successfully complete clerical and technical assessment tests in typing, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to be eligible for further consideration for this position.
