About the Role

The Customer Service Rep will manage a portfolio of 25–30 customers, focusing heavily on the company’s top five accounts. You will oversee order entry, purchase orders, customer communication, forecasting support, and daily coordination across sales, operations, and production planning.

This is a hands‑on role that requires strong communication skills, solid manufacturing acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will also supervise one direct report (Customer Forecaster/Scheduler), making this a great step into leadership for someone who wants management exposure.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key customers—via phone and email
  • Manage PO entry, order changes, and customer updates
  • Resolve issues and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Partner with production, planning, and sales on delivery timelines
  • Lead customer forecasting through your direct report
  • Help implement updated processes brought in by new leadership
  • Support continuous improvement as the organization modernizes
  • Grow into Inside Sales or broader leadership as opportunities arise
What We’re Looking For Must-Haves
  • 1–5 years of customer service or inside sales experience (manufacturing required)
  • Strong phone communication skills; comfortable with demanding or frustrated customers
  • Experience with PO processing, order entry, and basic production/forecast understanding
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Good computer skills and comfort learning new systems
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in metal fabrication or discrete manufacturing
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree
  • Prior leadership experience or desire to grow into a leadership/sales track
  • Location: Onsite in Aurora, IL (M–F)
  • Hours: 7–4 or 8–5
  • Salary: Up to $65K + bonus
  • Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus
  • Reports to: Director of Sales
  • Team: 1 direct report; part of the Sales organization
  • Environment: Older building but stable, long-tenured workforce with new leadership energy
