The Director, Pricing Strategy will play a critical role within the CFAO organization, leading high‑impact pricing initiatives that shape how the company prices and guarantees the pharmacy benefit for its PBM clients. This role is responsible for developing and refining pricing and rebate guarantee models, driving executive alignment on strategic decisions, and coordinating execution across multiple teams including IT, Underwriting, Modeling, and Finance.
It requires a strong mix of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and hands‑on execution. The ideal candidate brings a consulting mindset, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and can manage multiple complex initiatives while influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Pricing Strategy & Model Development: Lead the development and refinement of pricing models to support strategic objectives, financial targets, and market competitiveness. Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leaders. Assess tradeoffs, risks, and financial impacts associated with pricing strategy decisions.
- Executive Alignment & Stakeholder Management: Partner with executives and senior leaders to align on pricing strategy, assumptions, and decision paths. Prepare clear, concise executive‑level communications and presentations to support decision‑making. Facilitate alignment across diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
- Program & Cross‑Functional Leadership: Own end‑to‑end delivery of pricing initiatives, coordinating across IT, Underwriting, Modeling, Finance, and other partners. Manage multiple work streams simultaneously, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and deliverables are met. Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, and gaps across teams.
- Analytics, Communication & Workshops: Perform and review advanced analytical work using Excel to inform pricing strategies and recommendations. Develop high‑quality PowerPoint materials that clearly articulate strategy, analysis, and outcomes. Design and lead working sessions and workshops with cross‑functional and executive stakeholders to drive alignment and decisions.
- Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in pricing, strategy, consulting, analytics, or a related field. Prior consulting experience or a strong consulting‑style background (structured problem solving, executive storytelling, stakeholder management).
- Preferred Qualifications: Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment. Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel. Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated expertise in PowerPoint for executive audiences. Experience leading workshops, working sessions, or decision forums with cross‑functional stakeholders. Experience working closely with IT, Finance, Underwriting, or Modeling teams on complex initiatives. Exposure to pricing strategy in highly regulated or data‑intensive environments.
Comfort influencing without direct authority and driving outcomes through collaboration. - Educational
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
The typical pay range for this role is $ - $. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
