As the senior contract specialist for our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for the full clinical contract lifecycle, partnering closely with the contract team manager, clinical operations teams, hospitals and site partners, legal, insurance, and compliance groups to lead the execution of a variety of clinical contracts while applying legal and clinical expertise. This is a collaborative role that requires relationship building, outreach, and care for the student during the contracting process.
Responsibilities- Serve as the subject matter expert and liaison for contracting needs, escalations and regulatory questions.
- Manage case assignment in B2B, ensuring that all contracts are being worked on effectively.
- Serve as liaison to the academic programs as the Data Use contract specialist.
- Monitor and facilitate the progress of contracts through the process and all phases to contract completion.
- Interface with Legal to support one‑off contracts that serve the needs of various academic partners.
- Manage Contracts SharePoint site, create and update data views and reports, and generate financial reports as needed.
- Analyze historical contract data to provide critical information to management, Legal and Finance, including recommendations to improve or change processes.
- Orient new staff on contracting policies and procedures.
- Represent the team at pertinent department meetings.
- Support the Contract Manager role through scheduling, onboarding, systems access requests, and special projects.
- Act as a change agent to improve current procedures and systems.
- Provide cross‑functional support of departmental teams as needed.
- Remain current on corporate contract and finance policies, procedures, and systems.
- Design workflows and procedures, manage workflows, and adjust when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in business administration, contract management, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience analyzing and negotiating contracts (required).
- 3+ years of Salesforce B2B and Docu Sign experience (required).
- Successful experience in relationship management across a range of partners.
- Models leadership, professionalism and accountability.
- Proven organizational, analytic, project management and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels.
- Strong communication, facilitation, organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be thorough and detail‑oriented, with excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
- Creative, innovative, able to work independently on several projects simultaneously with little or no supervision.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially and with integrity.
- Proven mastery of MS Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Consistently exhibits healthy organizational behaviors and gains & maintains confidence and trust through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
- Can build strong customer relationships and deliver customer‑centric solutions.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $70,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law.
