Superintendent - Data Centers

Location: Based in Chicagoland, IL (Travel Required)

Compensation: $140,000–$180,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits + Car Allowance

Our client is an established and highly respected commercial general contractor launching an exciting new business division focused on mission-critical construction. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-capitalized organization at the beginning of an ambitious growth initiative, helping deliver complex data center projects across the United States.

We're seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent with a proven track record of leading large-scale commercial or mission-critical construction projects. This individual will play a critical role in field operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through project completion. This role requires travel to project sites throughout the U.S. and close collaboration with Project Managers, owners, subcontractors, and field teams to deliver successful mission-critical facilities.

• Lead day-to-day field operations for ground-up data center and mission-critical construction projects.
• Manage project schedules and coordinate subcontractors to maintain milestone commitments.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites.
• Coordinate inspections, quality control, and project turnover activities.
• Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure work is performed accurately.
• Conduct daily subcontractor coordination meetings and weekly progress meetings.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to identify and resolve field issues.
• Monitor manpower, productivity, and sequencing to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, daily reports, and schedule updates.
• Build strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners.

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Previous experience leading data center, mission-critical, industrial, healthcare, or other highly technical commercial construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively for project assignments across the United States.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and safety practices.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades in fast-paced environments.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Base Salary: $140,000–$180,000, depending on experience
