Position Summary

A growing national company is seeking individuals to join a team of professional home inspectors. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable, and presentable, and follows our standard process to complete an accurate, thorough quality home inspection and detailed report.

Role and Responsibilities

The inspector is required to have a basic knowledge of residential home systems and elements. The role involves working in various weather conditions, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, accessing crawl spaces and attics, and standing for long periods of time. Solid computer technology skills are necessary for report writing and communications. The ideal candidate stays current on the latest company initiatives, policies, and procedures, while continually developing advanced technical knowledge in building science.

Punctuality, the ability to work independently, and a strong work ethic are also required. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.

  • Travel to home inspection sites
  • Suggest possible improvements and discuss potential code violations
  • Review plans to ensure they meet building codes and local ordinances
  • Inspect plumbing and electrical for code violations and issue violation notices
  • Keep daily logs, write up reports, and take photographs
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 2+ years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience
  • Strong understanding of building codes, laws, and government regulations
  • Degree in construction preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
  • Physically fit for climbing ladders, walking on roofs, accessing crawl spaces and attics, and standing for long periods of time
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • May be required to enter homes that contain allergens such as pets, dust, mold, or other substances
