We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Designer to join our interior design team. This role bridges creative vision and execution, translating conceptual designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with interior designers, architects, and project managers to ensure designs are feasible, accurate, and aligned with project requirements. You will also play a key role during construction administration as well, helping ensure the design is executed accurately in the field.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed construction drawings, plans, elevations, and sections using CAD. Revit experience is a plus
- Translate design concepts into technical documentation and specifications
- Coordinate with designers, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure accuracy and feasibility
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback, site conditions, and project changes
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including finish schedules and material specifications
- Support project timelines by delivering accurate work within deadlines
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design intent and contract documents
- Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) in coordination with the design team
- Conduct site visits and field observations to monitor construction progress and quality
- Identify and help resolve field issues, discrepancies, and unforeseen conditions
- Collaborate with contractors and consultants to maintain project alignment
- Participate in punch list walkthroughs and project closeout activities
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- 6-7 years of experience in a related field
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other design software
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Experience supporting construction administration phases
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Strong creative and communication skills
