The Orthopedic Non‑Operative Sports Medicine Physician specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and non‑surgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in active individuals and athletes. The role requires close collaboration with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and orthopedic surgeons to coordinate comprehensive care and help patients maintain activity levels and quality of life.
Responsibilities- Provide 36 hours of patient‑facing care per week, Monday through Friday.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with musculoskeletal injuries, including detailed medical histories and thorough physical examinations.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses for sports‑related injuries by integrating clinical findings with advanced imaging modalities (X‑ray, MRI, Ultrasound).
- Develop and implement individualized non‑operative treatment plans incorporating medications, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and ultrasound‑guided procedures.
- Create injury‑prevention programs for athletes and active individuals, focusing on training regimens and biomechanics.
- Provide coverage for the high‑volume walk‑in clinic, managing urgent musculoskeletal injuries and referring to Copley Orthopedic Surgeons when needed.
- Partner with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on injuries, treatment options, and self‑management strategies to optimize recovery and prevent recurrence.
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or board‑eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with a fellowship in Sports Medicine.
- Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal conditions.
