General Surgeon

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join its hospital-owned surgical team in Evanston, Illinois. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-focused environment with a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, including trauma and acute care surgery.

• Perform bread-and-butter general surgery, acute care surgery, elective procedures, and endoscopy
• Participate in home call 1:3, with additional compensated night and weekend shifts available
• Engage in an academic environment with 24/7 general surgery resident coverage
• Optional research opportunities through affiliation with the University of Illinois

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA)
• Current Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain before start)
• Current DEA registration
• Strong interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills
