, in Aurora, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, invites applications for the position of Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine.
This position offers a balanced 50/50 split between outpatient clinical care and surgical intervention, providing the ideal environment for a surgeon who values both patient continuity and high-volume operative time.
Clinical & Surgical Scope- Surgical Volume: Perform 12–15 surgeries per week, with dedicated block scheduling from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Case Mix: Diagnose and treat sports-related injuries, including ACL tears, rotator cuff injuries, and meniscus tears. Perform arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgeries.
- Outpatient Clinic: Average 20+ patients per day with a structured schedule (8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM) and a dedicated lunch hour.
- Facilities: Surgeries are performed at Rush Copley Medical Center or our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center on Ogden.
- Support Team: Join a well-established practice of orthopedic surgeons and work alongside a dedicated Medical Assistant and Nurse to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Serving as a key physician for several local high school athletic programs and Aurora University
. - On-site coverage for 4–5 home high school football games per year.
- Work closely with athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to develop and implement treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Call Rotation: 1:7 rotation.
- Support: Call is shared with a skilled team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring a manageable and predictable schedule.
- MD or DO degree and Board Certification/Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Completion of a Sports Medicine Fellowship.
- Open to new graduates with a strong clinical background and a passion for sports-related orthopedic care.
Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge and skills, relevant experience and training, education, certifications, licensure, primary work location, and other business and organizational factors. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets.
Pay Range: $586,204 – $889,915.
