Part-time French Teacher in Early Education

L’Académie is seeking a dedicated and engaging part‑time French teacher
to join our growing French immersion program serving young learners on Chicago’s North Shore. Our program emphasizes authentic language acquisition through play‑based learning, cultural immersion, and strong relationships with students and families.

• Lead small‑group French immersion classes for children (ages 3–10, depending on placement)
• Create and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
• Foster a warm, nurturing classroom environment that supports language acquisition through play, music, and movement
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress
• Collaborate with program leadership to maintain curriculum excellence and consistency

• Bachelor’s degree in French, French Language & Literature, Education, or a related field (
  required
  )
• Master’s degree in French or Education (
  preferred
  )
• Native or near‑native fluency in French
• Experience working with young children (early childhood or elementary level strongly preferred)
• Strong classroom management skills and a positive, professional demeanor
• Authorization to work in the United States

• Experience in immersion or bilingual education settings
• Creativity in lesson planning (music, storytelling, arts‑based teaching)
• Enthusiasm for building community with families
• Commitment to high‑quality, screen‑free, child‑centered learning
• Part‑time:
  Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
