OverviewWaubonsee Community College’s Health Professions and Public Service division is currently seeking adjunct instructors for Paramedic EMT courses for the 2026 cohort 6. Lab experiences are embedded within the didactic class times. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the division Dean.
- Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, multitask ability, and the ability to engage large groups of people with complicated material.
- Instruct in lecture, skills, or clinicals in the Paramedic Program per IDPH guidelines. All courses occur at Northwestern Medicine/Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL as programmed by the Southern Fox Valley EMS System.
- Schedule and manage students’ clinical rotations (if applicable).
- Prepare the syllabus and instruct the assigned course based upon the course outline, incorporating learning‑centered college principles and concepts.
- Meet all WCC deadlines for submission of attendance, grades, and data collection for assessment of student learning.
- Work collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
- Handle course paperwork such as attendance and grade postings, and review and entry of students’ clinicals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Illinois Paramedic license in good standing.
- Pass a drug test per hospital regulations.
- Provide immunization records (e.g., COVID, flu) per hospital regulations.
- Active IDPH EMT-P Lead Instructor Certification.
- Associate’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience.
- Two years teaching at the college level.
- Previous teaching or training experience.
