Paraprofessional

Location: Jacksonville, IL

Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in the classroom with instructional activities and student support.
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students, including those with special needs.
• Support students in completing assignments and understanding classroom material.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and resources.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other staff to support student development and success.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, teachers, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student success.
• Basic understanding of classroom management techniques and instructional strategies.
• Must pass background checks and meet other district-specific requirements.
