Description

Perform functions to provide consultation to building and educational teams regarding positive behavioral supports to establish a safe learning environment for students. This is a long‑term sub assignment. Approximate dates of assignment 9/1/26 to 11/20/26.

Job Summary
  • Observe students to gather relevant information and data to consult with the educational team concerning student programming.
  • Consult with building staff concerning learning strategies and supports for students presenting behavioral challenges.
  • Model intervention and coach staff on implementation of specific strategies.
  • Participate in student and administrative meetings when appropriate.
  • Assist with completion of student functional assessment and with development of behavior support plan.
  • Train staff on methodologies, strategies and resources for working with students presenting behavioral challenges.
  • Communicate with staff regarding implementation of instructional strategies for students presenting behavioral challenges.
  • Keep abreast of evidence based methodologies used with students with behavioral challenges.
  • Provide professional learning activities including instruction in Crisis Prevention Intervention.
  • Liaison with state and national initiatives in the area of positive behavior supports.
  • Actively participate on various District teams or committees. Provide feedback and act as liaison to other district staff.
  • Enforce and support school policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents.
  • Participate in professional learning and self-development activities in order to maintain professional growth. Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies.
  • Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as presenting programs and lessons or attending conferences.
Additional Responsibilities

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate Special Education endorsement. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential preferred.

Rate of Pay

$317/Day

Working Conditions

Working collaboratively with special education teams.
