Position
Purpose:
The College of Health and Sciences at Aurora University invites applications for a full‑time, clinical‑track Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration. The candidate will advance the growing Healthcare Administration program by providing outstanding classroom and experiential learning opportunities for students to become highly competent professionals. Teaching will occur in both the undergraduate healthcare administration program and the graduate MBA healthcare track. This 9‑month academic appointment begins fall 2024 and may include a summer appointment subject to availability of funds.
Essential Job Functions:- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare administration.
- Engage in professional activity and service projects that strengthen the university community.
- Collaborate effectively within the departmental environment.
- Oversee the academic program, including the on‑ground and online healthcare administration major and the MBA healthcare track.
- Mentor students and manage faculty, curriculum development, assessment plans, and departmental resources.
- Supervise a robust internship experience and facilitate professional networking opportunities, especially for graduate students.
Job Requirements:
Education: Terminal degree in the field or a master’s degree with extensive work experience. Doctorally prepared candidates are preferred; ABD candidates will be considered. Current certifications related to the field are encouraged, as is prior teaching experience.
Experience: Industry experience and teaching experience preferred. Ability to mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Skills: Commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment; effective written, oral communication, and presentation skills; dedication to staying current in the field; experience mentoring undergraduate students.
Physical Requirements: Ability to interact with individuals in person or via technology; to be physically present in class and during office hours; to demonstrate physical activities relevant to the profession.
