PRIDE Trainer - Bilingual, School of Social Work PRIDE Foster and Adoptive Parent Program

Located Statewide in Illinois

Funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS), the PRIDE Foster and Adoptive Parent Training Program trains prospective, relative/fictive kin, licensed, and adoptive/sub guardianship caregivers across Illinois through web‑based, instructor‑led, and hybrid learning formats within the Learning and Development Unit of the Office of Learning and Professional Development (OLDP).
Bilingual PRIDE Trainers may also participate in caregiver curriculum translation events to increase the availability of Spanish‑language caregiver trainings in Illinois.

• Training Facilitation – Facilitates in‑person, virtual, and on‑demand trainings based on approved DCFS caregiver curricula, adapting to varying assignments. Facilitates in English and/or Spanish depending on participants or assignment. Travel for in‑person trainings is required; while efforts are made to limit travel within geographic regions, statewide travel may be required.
• Data Management and Administrative Support – Performs data entry, ensures timely submission of required paperwork, and manages workflows to meet deadlines. Reviews and manages training schedules to avoid conflicts, monitors hours to comply with mandatory limits, and submits payroll and travel documentation following UIUC guidelines.
• Staff Development and Additional Responsibilities – Participates in staff development activities and meetings. May be assigned to individual or group projects related to training, curriculum development, or other tasks essential to successful delivery of caregiver programs. Mandatory travel for in‑person work groups, staff development, and meetings may occur statewide.

Employee must secure personal desktop or laptop and designated space to host professional presentations.

Bachelor’s degree. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish. Minimum 5 years of recent experience as a licensed foster and/or adoptive parent with knowledge of child welfare practices in Illinois or 3 years of recent experience as a child welfare professional in Illinois.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work. Experience as a trainer.

• Strong organizational, multitasking, problem‑solving, and independent judgment.
• Excellent communication and instruction‑following skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, PDF tools.
• Data entry and workflow management skills.

This is a part‑time Academic Hourly position, appointed on a 12‑month basis. The position is grant‑funded; several positions are available statewide. Renewal is contingent upon availability of funds. Expected start date as soon as possible after the posting closes. Hourly wage is $38.00 per hour for facilitating trainings and $19.00 per hour for preparing training materials. The position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization.
