Early Learning Assistant

Job Description

Kumon of Springfield, IL is seeking a dedicated Early Learning Assistant to support early learners in developing foundational phonetics and numeracy skills. This part‑time role involves working individually with students using proprietary Kumon teaching materials on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30pm. The assistant plays a key role in guiding students, evaluating their homework and classwork, and maintaining an organized learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to early learning students
• Grade student homework and evaluate classwork using Kumon's proprietary materials
• Support students in phonetics and early numeracy development
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in early childhood education
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of phonetics instruction and early numeracy
• Strong time management and communication skills
