The Language and Social Skills Opportunities program is a SEDOL program that has been designed for those students in 4th-8th grades who exhibit characteristics of high functioning Autism (formerly Asperger's Syndrome) and have the potential to benefit from exposure to mainstream curriculum concepts and methods.
Description:Special Education Paraprofessionals support teachers in carrying out assignments with special education students as part of the daily routine. We have an openings for a 1:1 paraprofessional in our Lasso I program located at Olive Martin in Lake Villa, IL. The paraprofessional supports the classroom teacher with instructional and emotional growth.
A Day in the Life of a LASSO 1 Paraprofessional:- Data Collection
- Bathroom Support (including but not limited to: diapering, potty training, etc)
- Implement curricular tools and behavior management strategies under the guidance of the teacher and/or related service providers
- Promote Student Independence
- Prepare classroom materials and support overall classroom organization, structure and cleanliness
Full-time, School Year
Salary and Benefits- Starting Hourly Wage range from $21.67-$28.57 depending on experience and education
