Wind Technician II – Gridley, IL
Position Overview
Ensure the smooth operation of wind turbines, addressing maintenance, troubleshooting, and system issues to keep the community powered.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair wind turbines with the team.
- Adhere to safety protocols and conduct safety inspections.
- Collaborate to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
- Document work and continuously improve operational processes.
- Accurately time‑code all work activities to support clear tracking of task duration, progress, and operational efficiency.
Who You Are
- At least 6 months of Wind Technician certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
- Highly developed problem‑solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities.
- Safety‑conscious and committed to best practices.
- Works well with others and enjoys collaborative environments.
- Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
- Able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- High school diploma (or equivalent), valid driver’s license, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Salary & Bonus
Base pay range: $27.43 - $33.43/hr with potential for performance bonuses and a $2,500 USD GWO sign‑on bonus (eligibility applies).
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, and stoop for prolonged periods; climb ladders up to 100 meters.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Use telecommunications and radio with needed hearing acuity.
- Perform training and certification courses in fall protection, electrical qualification, fall arrest, high‑angle rescue, confined space, and emergency descent.
- Meet weight limits for PPE and gear per fall protection equipment design.
