What you’ll doAs a Project Engineer, you’ll help with projects that require you to apply standard practices and techniques. You’ll also:
- Plan and coordinate work.
- Adjust and correlate data.
- Estimate project costs.
- Recognize discrepancies and follow standard procedures.
- Build client relationships.
- Support construction staff with field changes and clarifications.
- Assist with proposal development and scope definition.
- Coordinate permitting with regulatory agencies under state and local requirements.
- Work effectively under pressure.
- Meet tight deadlines.
Ideally, you’ll have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering and five or more years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a professional consulting firm. You should be a licensed professional engineer or be able to secure licensure shortly after starting employment. Ideally, you will also have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
