Mechanical Engineer
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Project Engineer to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for our pump product lines. The role involves guiding a team in prioritization, task organization, role definition, record maintenance, and assisting in designing new pumps, while ensuring clear communication with internal stakeholders and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Confidently provide clear, concise communications with peers and Collins leadership.
- Assist in efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting pump program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Pursue cost‑saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
- Assist in technical support for piece‑part supplier change verification.
- Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.
- Coordinate between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output.
- Support less experienced engineers within the team.
- Support quality investigations when piece‑part issues affect product deliveries.
- Understand, help write, improve, and execute test procedures.
- Analyze, interpret, and report out test results.
- Verify internal processes are executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks.
- Read and interpret drawings, provide mark‑ups, and coordinate drawing releases.
- Develop disposition and substantiation for stocked and delivered hardware.
- Coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
- Help estimate and track project budget and schedule using EVMS decision making.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Mechanical or Systems Engineering degree.
- Experience in a production role supporting aerospace rotating equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware.

Salary Range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD
