Robotics Specialist
Cullerton Group has an opportunity for a Robotics Specialist across multiple locations throughout North America. This long‑term contract can last several years. The work will be performed onsite at automotive manufacturing plants. Compensation is up to $42/hr plus all travel expenses fully covered.
Minimum Qualifications- Minimum five (5) years of hands‑on experience programming industrial robots, including experience with Fanuc Robots, GM Wizard, GRS certification, and at least two years of exposure to GM projects.
- Knowledge and use of Fanuc DCS software.
- Experience with Fanuc R‑Guide (asset).
- Degree, diploma or certificate in Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics Technology, Robotics and Industrial Automation, or a comparable field.
- Experience in robotic servo resistance welding and material handling; sealer systems beneficial; experience with robotic guided vision, Keyence 3‑D bin picking, or Photoneo 3‑D bin picking is a strong asset.
- Excellent understanding of robotic coordinate systems.
- Working knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP.
- Good understanding of GM robot program flow and programming principles.
- Understanding of robot safety setup and familiarity with ANSI 10218‑2 robotic safety standards.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
- Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
- Practical experience and understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Work closely with robotic supervisors and department leads.
- Follow GM structure for robot programs and overall architecture.
- Maintain and support department operations.
- Program robot paths, set up program structure, and implement offline programming.
- Configure robot I/O, weld interface, and program calls.
- Anticipate and solve robotic problems (troubleshoot).
- Read and interpret electrical/pneumatic schematics and specifications.
- Perform assigned tasks safely, ensuring correct lockout procedures for all energy sources, including stored energy (GM MPS); training may be provided later.
- Collaborate with other programmers to enhance skill levels.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
- Office and shop floor environment.
- Overtime hours will be required.
- Possible shift work as required.
- Long‑term travel required.
