About The Job

The Technical Engineer will report to the USA Service Manager and will be responsible for offering expert technical support and services across DEIF’s product families. Furthermore, this person will conduct external training sessions and assist with the operations of our DEIF Academy.

This role requires strong technical, communication and presentation skills, and the ability to travel frequently (up to 40% of the time).

Working Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Partnering with the USA sales team by providing technical expertise and ultimately supporting product sales. This involves promotional materials, consulting on the right products and diagrams, delivering product training, and providing tailored control solutions.
  • Conducting training sessions at our DEIF Academy/training center in Florida, and supporting efforts related to the smooth operation and growth of the academy.
  • Assisting in the design and integration of DEIF products into diesel, gas, and hybrid power generation systems.
  • Conducting site visits for commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and customer training.
  • Offering helpful advice and solutions to customers through telephone, online, and other support channels.
  • Staying up to date with the market, understanding competitor’s products, and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of existing DEIF products in order to provide the best possible support/solutions.
  • Acting as a point of contact between customers and DEIF Headquarters in Denmark for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Providing product consultations in exhibitions, seminars, and on-site receptions.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a major in Ship Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automation.
  • 3+ years of experience in power generation, automation, or control systems.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, HMI, and PLC programming. Codesys would be of great advantage.
  • Understanding of generator controls, synchronization, load sharing, and protection systems.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and control logic.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Fluent English as working language.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders at a global level.
