Primary Responsibilities
Applicant will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing financial records, assisting the Senior Accountant and Finance Director in planning, organizing, and completing various functions of the Finance Department, including but not limited to, processing bi-monthly accounts payable and warrant list processes, bank and account reconciliations, and assisting with the annual financial statement audit and annual operating budget preparation and other work as required and directed by the Finance Director and Senior Accountant.
Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field from an accredited University or College preferred and 3-5 years' experience in Accounting/Finance preferably in the governmental sector. CPA License is desirable. Knowledge of municipal financial systems - particularly with BS&A Software is a plus, but not required.
Starting Salary Range$62,673 to $86,801 (with FY 2027 Approved COLA) commensurate with experience. Includes health and retirement benefits, paid holidays and vacations. Once hired, participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) is required.
