Position Summary

With oversight the SBA Loan Processor II is responsible for packaging, document preparation, closing and funding of Small Business Administration (SBA) and other commercial loans within the SBA Portfolio. They will work in conjunction with the SBA Business Development Officer, SBA Underwriter, borrower, and external parties to successfully process the loan from application to closing. They have a strong working knowledge and understanding of the SBA Standard Operating Procedure and eligibility.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Process SBA 7(a) loan files, SBA Express Loans, SBA 504 Loans, other SBA products and occasionally Conventional loan files.
  • Oversee, order, and track due diligence items such as title policies, environmental reports, etc.
  • Coordinate the collection of required documentation from borrower and/or lender.
  • Contact lenders, title companies, insurance agents, and others to ensure missing post-closing documents have been obtained and make sure that files are complete with all final recorded documents.
  • Verify accuracy of documents based on type of loan.
  • Prepare settlement sheets for loan disbursements and verify that documentation supports the original authorization.
  • As part of the loan package prepare SBA loan documentation in either Laser Pro software or on Microsoft Word.
  • Input and maintain files in the SBA Application software and SBA Servicing core processing systems.
  • Prepare and submit SBA application documents for signature and submission to SBA (Delegated or Non-Delegated Authority), as applicable.
  • Work with outside counsel in order to have 3rd party loan documents prepared and/or 3rd party documents reviewed as needed.
  • Assist in Loan Review and Exception Research and follow-up.
  • Close loans as needed.
  • Complete Pre-Closing audit of loan file and coordinate secondary review by leadership.
  • Ensure funds are disbursed correctly, per the eligibility of the SOP, and all fees are posted to the applicable general ledger accounts.
  • Special Projects.
  • Supports departmental duties including answering phones, processing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, maintaining filing systems, etc.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the SBA SOP, required forms, and Application documents.
  • Attend specialty trainings and/or courses, as directed by leadership.
  • Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service.
  • Build trusted, collaborative and supporting relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Represent the Bank and SBA Loan Services team in a highly professional manner.
  • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
  • Maintain confidentiality; adhere to Busey Bank policies and procedures; comply with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Education & Experience

Knowledge Of

  • Take independent action within established options and develop new procedures and approaches to problems when necessary.
  • Analyze assignments based on a wide knowledge of many factors where application of advanced or technical concepts are required.
  • Maintain visual attention and mental concentration for extended periods of time.
  • Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures.
  • Independently be able to prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.

Education and Training

  • Requires high school diploma.
  • Requires 4 or more years of commercial loan and/or SBA loan documentation knowledge.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Compensation And Benefits

(Base Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $30.00/hr)

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
