Responsibilities- Work closely with client executives and management teams to identify and manage regulatory compliance risks within their business processes and systems.
- Assist clients in compliance with new or updated financial institution regulations.
- Implement new or updated regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable compliance plans.
- Stay up to date on all existing compliance regulations.
- Build and maintain a broad knowledge of the financial institution industry and regulatory changes, identifying potential impacts on compliance audit programs.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert on regulatory and compliance topics for the internal audit practice.
- Provide strategic business advice by assisting in the implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Manage client engagement teams, including staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Leverage entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.
- Invest in professional development through firm‑wide learning and development programs.
- Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of direct, hands‑on experience with SOX and FDICIA compliance within the banking or financial services industry.
- Demonstrated experience performing SOX and FDICIA internal control documentation, walkthroughs, testing, and remediation.
- CIA or CPA designation(s) strongly preferred; candidates willing to obtain CIA or CPA Certification in the future are also considered.
- Experience supporting SOX and FDICIA compliance in a regulated banking environment, coordinating with internal audit, external audit, and regulatory examination support activities.
- Prior experience as a client‑serving professional in a consulting or advisory environment or experience within a bank’s internal audit, SOX, or compliance function.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time‑management skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and client responsiveness.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
The compensation range for this role is $81,000 to $147,640. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In Irvine, California, the pay rate range is $103,490 to $155,240.
