We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate must have strong blood bank experience and at least 2 years of laboratory experience
.

This role supports laboratory initiatives, performs complex testing procedures, and ensures high standards of accuracy and quality control across departments.

• Perform testing in all clinical laboratory departments, with emphasis on Blood Bank

• Collect, process, and receive specimens (blood, urine, fecal, body fluids)

• Analyze and resolve specimen collection and processing issues

• Perform complex laboratory procedures and troubleshoot deviations

• Analyze quality control data and maintain accuracy and precision

• Review instrument indicators and temperature monitors

• Participate in evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures

• Answer inquiries regarding test results, methodology, and test sensitivity/specificity

• Maintain laboratory competency and compliance standards

• Bachelor’s Degree (Associate’s accepted for grandfathered personnel)

• CLS or MT (ASCP) certification (or equivalent)

  • New graduates must pass certification exam within 6 months of start

• Minimum 2 years of experience

• Active Illinois State License (must be currently active)

• Strong blood bank experience required

• Experience with
  EPIC EMR preferred

• Evening shift

• No holiday coverage required

• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours

• On-call rate: $5/hour pager

• Call-back rate: 1.5x (2-hour minimum)

• Guaranteed hours:
  Not guaranteed

• 1099 not accepted
