Job Details
The Medical Assistant Float assists physicians in assessing, examining, and treating patients. The role requires patient flow management and a variety of diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vitals. Acts as a liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction and maintains and orders supplies for the assigned area. As a Float resource, the incumbent regularly works at 5 or more different locations within their assigned area.

- Act as liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Maintain and order supplies for assigned area.
- Interact with co‑workers, visitors, and other staff consistently with the organization’s values.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure proper identification.
- Perform and document vital signs, clinical care quality measures, and medical history information.
- Remain proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems within the established scope of practice.
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections in the office.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and facilitate smooth operations of the office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures.
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire (BLS through the Red Cross may be acceptable in some Pennsylvania locations).
- Experience in a physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
- For New Jersey only: graduate of an accredited post‑secondary medical assisting education program with at least 330 hours of instruction, including training in intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
- For internal Einstein applicants only:
Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a current Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024 when transferring within Einstein entities.
Salary Range: $19.20 to $27.37 hourly. Actual hiring rate determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. Position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
