They provide comprehensive support by managing patient flow, recording vitals, and assisting with procedures, while expertly handling EHR systems and front-desk tasks.
Qualifications- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Health career Association (NHA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health (AAH)
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) (Required within 30 days)
- H.S. Diploma / GED (Required)
- Patient Intake & Rooming: Collect chief complaint, family/social/surgical history, and perform medication reconciliation.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform urine catheterizations, bladder scanning, suture/staple removal, cast application/removal, and diagnostic testing at the point of care.
- Medication & Orders: Administer vaccines/medications and manage prescription refills per protocol.
- Telephone & Admin: Manage patient calls, coordinate referrals/testing, and complete check-in/check-out.

Provide written instructions and condition-specific education. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records within the EMR.
- Safety: Read negative TB tests or refer positive screens to a nurse.
The compensation range for this position is $18.33 per hour - $29.69 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
