Description

Responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the Health Services team. This includes the maintenance of a comprehensive school health services program which enhances the educational process through the removal of health barriers to learning. This is a full-time position (1.0 fte) with 20 extended contract days and a district coordinator stipend.

Job Summary
  • Implements policies of the Board of Education, ISBE, local, state and federal government, and the Nurse Practice Act. This role also serves to review, revise, develop, and make recommendations to policies through the Assistant Superintendent.
  • Recruit and onboard new staff. Supervise the health services master schedule throughout the year and during ESY and adjusting the schedule based on need.
  • Provide input into the evaluation of health services employees in accordance with Board policy and administrative procedures.
  • Coordinate, plan, and direct the development and implementation of health services programs.
  • Interpret and ensure that all local, state and federal rules and regulations that govern the health services team are followed and implemented. Report to the Assistant Superintendent, through the Director, any inconsistencies between district policy and practices and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Participate in the assessment, development, coordination and evaluation of professional learning opportunities based on research and best practice in the field of health services.
  • Oversee the administration and training of medication programs.
  • Monitor business operations within the health services team, including budget and expenditures for materials and supplies, and inventory management.
  • Monitor and assess equipment, including calibration, coordinating repairs, equipment replacement, and collaboration with respiratory therapy companies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with school staff, parents, and community agencies.
  • Represent health services on various district committees, with outside agencies, and organizations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a school nurse endorsement and a current license through IDFPR. Candidates with experience as a licensed school nurse preferred.

Rate of Pay and Benefits
