MUHSEN works to establish inclusive and accessible North American Muslim communities for individuals with disabilities and their families. We do this through engaging in community advocacy and education (Awareness) and implementing and encouraging programs and services (Accommodation), leading ultimately to inclusive and welcoming communities (Acceptance).
Role Overview
The MUHSEN Good Day Support Staff will play a key role in shaping, strengthening, and scaling MUHSEN’s adult program.
This individual will be expected to serve as a key member of MUHSEN’s core programs, ensuring they are mission‑aligned, high‑quality, and responsive to community needs.
This position requires a commitment of approximately 30 hours a week. Depending on program needs, weekend availability may be required to attend events and meetings. The role includes in‑person work at MUHSEN HQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily programming of the Good Day sessions and tasks; including setup/wrap up, activity assistance, events, outings, and participant interaction connected to the Day Program.
- Reporting directly to program leads regarding participants and any goals, behaviors, or parent communication
- Providing assistance to participants as needed in completing tasks and personal goals during program hours
- Assisting participants as needed with basic needs such as (but not limited to) eating, toileting, and moving around
- Attending staff meetings and trainings virtually or in person on a recurring basis
- Driving participants and staff in the bus or van when needed (for employees 25+)
- Completing documentation when needed, including incident reports, progress reports, and daily logs
Required Qualifications
- Strong commitment to MUHSEN’s mission, vision, and values, with the ability to model them consistently in daily work and decision‑making.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build relationships, navigate conflict diplomatically, and foster collaboration.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) or BT (Behavior Technician) certification preferred
