Orthopedics Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)
The Per Diem Orthopedics Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) works collaboratively with supervising orthopedic surgeons and the departmental team to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to orthopedic patients. This position primarily covers supplemental staffing needs, including weekend coverage, vacation coverage, and support during high census periods, across the inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings.
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications- Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
- Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
- Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification if doing Inpatient work.
- APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification if working in OR.
- Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
- Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign‑on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Pay Range: $75.00 per hour
