A fantastic contract opportunity is available for a skilled Physical Therapist to support students at a school near Elgin, IL, with a focus on transition-aged learners (20–22 years old) and mixed grade levels. This short-term role, running from August 17th to November 4th, involves providing essential educationally related physical therapy services to students in special education settings. The primary mission is to facilitate the acquisition or compensation for deficits in gross motor skills, contributing to students’ independence and participation within the school environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Physical Therapist license required
• Demonstrated experience working with pediatric populations
• Previous experience in school-based settings is essential
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to mixed age caseloads, with an emphasis on transition services for older students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct physical therapy services to students as determined by their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions that address students’ gross motor and functional needs
• Collaborate with educational teams, families, and other specialists to support student progress and independence
• Document session outcomes and maintain compliance with school and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on physical development and related modifications or accommodations
