Behavioral Health Therapist (Part-Time)

Report To: Clinical Manager

Position Summary

The Behavioral Healthcare hourly therapist is responsible for the provision of behavioral health counseling and education services to agency clients. This will include assessment, treatment planning, individual, family, and group services. Most therapists will be expected to work in a variety of agency programs and in various settings, both in and out of the agency office.

Behavioral Health Therapist Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral health counseling and education services to agency clients, including assessment, treatment planning, and individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
  • Deliver therapeutic services to a variety of ages and client populations.
  • Work in multiple agency programs and provide services in office, community, school-based, and other approved settings.
  • Provide specialized services such as school-based therapy, play therapy, and family therapy. (Training provided at no cost to the employee.)
  • Maintain a minimum of 80% billable time for hours worked.
  • Ensure work schedules are approved by the supervisor and attend all scheduled work hours.
  • Maintain an accurate schedule in the agency's scheduling system at least three weeks in advance and communicate appointment openings with Intake and scheduling staff.
  • Complete all legally and ethically required clinical documentation within 72 hours of services being rendered.
  • Complete client assessments, treatment plans, and other required documentation in accordance with payer requirements and agency policy.
  • Discuss overdue documentation with the Clinical Manager promptly and develop plans for timely completion.
  • Coordinate referrals with Clinical Care Coordinators, psychiatric providers, and other community resources as needed.
  • Attend scheduled individual supervision meetings with the Clinical Manager.
  • Participate in a minimum of one group supervision meeting each week.
  • Accurately document all time worked in agency systems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all ethical standards and professional licensure requirements.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of clients, including reporting suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with state law and agency policy.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field from a clinical program at an accredited school.
  • LCSW or LCPC required. ALMFT or LMFT also may apply
