Medical Assistant, Care

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed
• Perform lab-related tasks, including specimen collection and point-of-care testing
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care
• Support the care team through clinical and administrative tasks vital to patient care Maintain professionalism and compassion during patient interactions
• Follow relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience, or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
• Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds
• Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
• Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch required
• Fine hand manipulation skills required for IV insertion and other procedures/functions
• Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
• Ability to perform physical safety interventions and verbal de-escalation if needed
• Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required
• Additional department-specific physical requirements may apply

Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and lab tasks. Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams while adhering to safety regulations.
