Description

Rise Up for Autism is seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and proactive Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day HR operations across our four ABA therapy centers. This individual will serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership while ensuring compliance with employment laws, maintaining accurate personnel records, supporting recruiting efforts, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with employee engagement, and is comfortable wearing many hats.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for clinical and administrative positions.
  • Post positions on job boards and social media.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Complete reference checks.
  • Prepare offer letters.
  • Coordinate background checks, employment verification, credential verification, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Maintain applicant tracking and hiring metrics.
Onboarding
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Prepare employment paperwork.
  • Ensure completion of all required employment documents.
  • Coordinate system access and badges.
  • Track required trainings and maintain onboarding checklists.
Employee Relations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions.
  • Assist managers with coaching, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Conduct exit interviews and support employee recognition initiatives.
Compliance
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Ensure compliance with Illinois and federal employment laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain I-9 documentation.
  • Track certifications, annual trainings, and assist with audits.
HR Administration
  • Maintain employee records in Paylocity.
  • Process employment status changes.
  • Track PTO and leaves of absence.
  • Assist with workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Prepare HR reports and maintain policies and organizational charts.
Performance Management
  • Track probationary reviews and annual evaluations.
  • Maintain disciplinary documentation.
  • Support leadership with coaching and performance improvement plans.
Training & Development
  • Coordinate training schedules.
  • Track certifications and compliance training.
  • Maintain training records and support leadership development.
Culture & Employee Engagement
  • Coordinate employee appreciation and recognition initiatives.
  • Support wellness initiatives and internal communications.
  • Promote RUFA's mission and values.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of Illinois employment laws.
  • Experience with recruiting and onboarding.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Preferred
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Experience in ABA, behavioral health, or pediatric healthcare.
  • Experience with Paylocity.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Multi-site HR experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.

Schedule

This is a part-time position averaging 15–20 hours per week. As Rise Up for Autism continues to grow, this position offers the opportunity to expand into a full-time Human Resources role with increased responsibilities.
