DevOps Engineer

IDR is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for a professional experienced in platform engineering, infrastructure management, and automation within a hybrid environment, focused on delivering scalable and reliable systems for a high-tech organization.

• Responsible for maintaining and improving on-prem and hybrid infrastructure systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning software, hardware, networking, and storage components.
• Manage virtualization platforms and shared storage solutions to support operational efficiency.
• Document system configurations and participate in design discussions to enhance infrastructure resilience.

• 6+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles.
• Experience writing and debugging automation in Python

  , or similar languages
• Meaningful experience operating on-prem or hybrid infrastructure.
• Hands-on knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, or KVM.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across diverse infrastructure layers including software, OS, networking, storage, and hardware.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar)

• Familiarity with embedded software environments, including Yocto, Vivado, and cross-compilation workflows
• Exposure to security, compliance, or regulated environments, including EAR / ITAR considerations, Secure system design or audit readiness
