IT Project Manager
What you’ll be doing
The Technology Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing technology infrastructure projects within the bank. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills and a solid understanding of technology infrastructure components.
- Project Planning and Execution
:
Develop comprehensive project plans, coordinate activities, and ensure successful delivery. - Stakeholder Management
:
Engage stakeholders, gather requirements, communicate updates, and manage expectations. - Risk and Issue Management
:
Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address challenges to keep projects on track. - Resource Allocation and Management
:
Allocate resources, coordinate with resource managers, and ensure availability of required personnel. - Budget Tracking and Reporting
:
Monitor budget, track expenditures, and prepare regular financial status reports for stakeholders. - Quality Assurance
:
Define and enforce quality standards, conduct reviews and inspections to validate deliverables. - Change Management
:
Manage changes to scope, schedule, and requirements, assess impacts, and obtain necessary approvals. - Documentation and Knowledge Management
:
Maintain project documentation, establish a repository for lessons learned and best practices. - Contribution to PMO Maturation
:
Support the Technology Operations Project Management Office’s journey towards greater delivery leadership.
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience focused on technology infrastructure, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications required (PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL).
- Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and with high quality.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with experience in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Sound understanding of technology infrastructure concepts including data centers, networks, servers, storage, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planview, JIRA) and collaboration tools for remote team management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross‑functional teams and explaining technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Continuous learner who supports the growth of others and contributes to the deepening of delivery leadership within CIBC Tech Ops PMO.
Expected salary range: $120,000 - $140,000, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Eligible for incentive compensation and discretionary bonus component.
