Position

Summary

The Sr. Azure Engineer manages and maintains Selene’s Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and performance of cloud environments while supporting our financial services applications. The role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to implement cloud solutions that meet business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cloud Architecture Design – architect robust, scalable Azure solutions aligned with business requirements, covering compute, storage, networking, database, and application services.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – use Terraform or Azure Resource Manager templates to define and manage infrastructure through code, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
  • Automation – develop and maintain automation scripts using Power Shell or Python to streamline cloud deployments, configuration management, and operational tasks.
  • Performance Optimization – monitor and analyze Azure resource utilization to identify bottlenecks, optimize costs, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Security Implementation – design and enforce robust security measures across the Azure environment, including access controls, data encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Cloud Monitoring & Logging – implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues, analyze system health, and generate actionable insights.
  • Technical Leadership – mentor junior engineers, provide guidance on best practices, and troubleshoot complex Azure issues.
  • Cost Management – analyze cloud spending, identify cost‑optimization opportunities, and implement strategies to control Azure costs.
  • Azure Infrastructure Management – deploy, configure, and manage Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, app services, and networking components.
  • Office 365 Management – monitor, configure, and manage Office 365 resources, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, user permissions, and roles.
  • Backup & Recovery – develop and manage backup and disaster‑recovery plans to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Collaboration – work closely with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement – assess emerging Azure technologies and best practices to enhance scalability, security, and performance; identify opportunities to optimize existing cloud infrastructure while maintaining high availability and reliability.
  • Governance – implement governance policies and automation to streamline resource utilization and reduce waste.
  • Documentation – maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience – Minimum of 5 years managing complex native and hybrid Azure IaaS/PaaS solutions, designing and implementing compute, storage, networking, database, and application services, and supporting Dev Ops practices with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications – Azure Administrator Associate (required);
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Azure Dev Ops Engineer Expert (desirable).
  • Technical Skills – Proficiency with Azure services, Power Shell, Azure CLI, Terraform, and other relevant tools; strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Soft Skills – Excellent problem‑solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
