Physical Security Research Engineer

At ZBeta LabZ, we’ve built a dedicated environment where physical security systems are pushed, challenged, and validated in real-world conditions. We’re looking for an engineer who’s naturally curious, someone who likes to take things apart, figure out how they work, and make them better.

As a Physical Security Research Engineer
, you won’t be stuck in repetitive deployments, you’ll lead research, testing, and proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts for next-gen physical security solutions.

This is an in-office position at the ZBeta Innovation Lab location in Schiller Park, IL. Relocation assistance provided.

• Design and run real-world testing of security systems (software, hardware, IoT)
• Build and manage a live lab environment (servers, networks, devices)
• Lead PoCs and research initiatives for clients and internal teams
• Turn findings into clear, data-driven insights and reports
• Help shape the future of the LabZ research program

• 5+ years in physical security tech + engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of networks, servers, and integrated systems
• Experience with platforms like Genetec, Lenel
  
  S2 (a plus)
• A builder mindset; you like wiring, configuring, testing, and figuring things out
• Ability to translate complex results into clear insights
