Sr. Windows System Administrator

The Senior Windows Administrator is responsible for installing and maintaining environments running Microsoft Windows on HPE servers, HP workstations, and the M365 enterprise suite. Support extends to other 3rd party Windows-based applications servicing critical business functions as Data Centers, Corporate Head Quarters, Corporate Innovation Center, and Manufacturing Plants. The Sr. Windows Systems Administrator will assist in all facets of infrastructure lifecycle management, and perform administrative activities such as server builds, virtualization, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, patching, and system security.

• Participate as a member of a team that works collaboratively to ensure Windows infrastructure and operating systems are available and functioning properly to support business applications.
• Document procedures and update standards for new or modified systems and environments.
• Respond to systems alerts and participate in 24x7 rotation of after-hours on-call support.
• Review Microsoft security notifications and deploy updates if deemed necessary.
• Gather and evaluate performance/capacity metrics and report on key measurements.
• Proactively monitor systems to identify hardware and software problems and provide solutions prior to system failures.
• Architect and implement solutions to business challenges and new business opportunities.
• Prepare for disaster recovery and ensure that appropriate backups are completed and tested.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network failures.
• Perform Proof of Concepts for new software and hardware solutions.
• Establish and maintain security and integrity controls.
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of IT Operations background.
• Subject Matter Expert on Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy, and DNS.
• Subject Matter Expert on Exchange and M365.
• Proficient in Power Shell and scripting to create, modify and execute scripts
• Proficient with email protection systems. Experience with Proofpoint Email Protection is a plus.
• Experience with implementation and management of hyper-converged infrastructure.
• Proficient at implementation and support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure running Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience in implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Familiarity of Windows file hierarchy structure, command line interface and network services.
• Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
