Qualifications:

• Experience as a professional Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments.
• Background supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom or one-on-one settings.
• Current ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) Approval or IDHHC (Illinois Deaf & Hard of Hearing Commission) credentials required (PEL not needed).
• Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to foster connections across diverse learning needs.

What You'll Do:

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, educators, and peers using sign language.
• Support deaf and hard of hearing students through instructional interpretation and tailored strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance educational access and student engagement.
• Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and implementation when needed.
• Maintain student confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
