Buyer - Manufacturing & Electronics

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Temporary Buyer for an established telecommunications technology company that provides equipment and infrastructure solutions supporting wireless and broadband communication networks. This is a fully onsite temporary opportunity located in Aurora, Illinois, providing medical leave coverage through the end of November.

The Temporary Buyer will provide critical purchasing support in a fast-paced environment, managing day-to-day procurement activities for domestic and international suppliers. This position will oversee purchase orders, MRP-driven requirements, supplier communication, and purchasing data while supporting production schedules and supply continuity. The ideal candidate is a dependable procurement professional who can step into an active workload, work independently, and make an immediate impact with minimal training.

• $35.00 per hour compensation.
• Full-time weekday schedule with flexibility between approximately 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

• Manage daily purchasing activities for domestic and international suppliers.
• Process and maintain purchase orders to support production schedules, inventory requirements, and customer demand.
• Monitor and respond to MRP requirements while proactively identifying potential shortages or supply concerns.
• Serve as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding purchasing inquiries, order status, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and procurement data within SAP while following established procedures and compliance requirements.
• Support supply continuity and assist with additional procurement-related activities as business needs arise.

• Purchasing or buying experience within a manufacturing, telecommunications, electronics, or similar product-based environment.
• Hands-on experience using SAP for purchasing, procurement, purchase order management, or related functions.
• Experience purchasing electronic and mechanical components, materials, and assemblies.
• Working knowledge of MRP requirements, purchase order processing, supplier management, and inventory or supply chain operations.
• Mature, reliable, highly organized, and able to manage competing priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.

This temporary, fully onsite assignment in Aurora, Illinois is expected to continue through the end of November.
