General Labor
Load, unload and move materials to facilitate the receipt of supplies and shipment of product. An incumbent may or may not perform all of the duties listed below, dependent on the specific plant for which support is provided.
Functions of the JobEssential Functions:
- Load and unload trailers; move and dock trailers for loading.
- Audit areas of warehouse to insure proper placement of materials.
- Check and track inventories to be sure materials are on hand.
- Participate in physical count for monthly and yearly inventory.
- Keep warehouse clean and free of debris.
- Handle UPS and Fed Ex shipments.
- Monitor finished goods and raw materials for damage; report and repair as needed.
- Matches receivables to purchase orders including all UPS.
- Preforms other related duties and special projects.
- Attend safety committee meetings.
- Perform warehouse maintenance tasks (sealing floor, redo aisles, row numbers).

Position Qualification Requirements EducationRequires basic knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, English, and grammar; equivalent to a high school education.
ExperienceNo prior experience required. May entail up to 6 months on-the-job experience in order to gain sufficient skill to perform the requirements of the position.
Skills and Abilities- Language:
Perform reading, writing and speaking at a minimal level. - Mathematical:
Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. - Reasoning:
Ability to deal with problems involving standardized situations. - Computer skills at a basic level.
Computer, printer, UPS and Fed Ex software, forklift, clamp truck, tractor-trailer.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands- Standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, carrying, reaching, grasping, talking, and hearing.
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Medium work – exert up to 15 pounds of force continuously and up to 40 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Physical conditions include close proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to noise and dust. Occasional exposure to weather (moving trailers).
