Facilities Manager – Personal Care Products Manufacturing

Bedford Park, IL (On-site)
Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 base + bonus
A century-old, family‑owned personal care products manufacturer is adding a Facilities Manager to take full ownership of facility systems and infrastructure at a large, automated production campus in Bedford Park. This is a newly created position built to bring dedicated engineering leadership to a complex facility that has outgrown a generalist approach. The operation produces shampoo, lotion, conditioner, and a broad range of personal care products company is specifically looking for someone who comes from a manufacturing environment and understands how large industrial facilities operate from the inside.
Whatthe Job Involves
- Oversee all facility functions including HVAC, boilers, stationary engineering, building maintenance, and related systems
- Manage on‑site contractors across multiple trades including electrical and civil work, ensuring all projects meet facility standards, timelines, and safety requirements
- Manage on‑site wastewater treatment systems and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
- Develop and oversee capital project budgets, scopes, and schedules for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, OSHA requirements, and safety standards throughout the facility
- Identify facility improvement opportunities and lead implementation from concept through completion
- BS/BA degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of maintenance certifications and 5+ years of facilities management leadership in a manufacturing setting
- 7+ years of plant or facilities management experience in a manufacturing environment required
Must come from manufacturing - Hands‑on experience with facility systems including HVAC, boilers, and electrical distribution
- Proven track record managing contractors across multiple trades simultaneously
- Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination
- Stationary Engineer license preferred
- Strong communicator who can work across departments and with diverse teams
