Maintenance Technician | PLC Troubleshooting & Production Equipment Repair (Support production uptime through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and utility equipment.)
Location & ShiftAurora, IL – Night Shift (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) 2‑2‑3 schedule. Pay: $30–$35 hr based on experience.
Role SummaryRandstad USA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Aurora, IL. This role supports a fast‑paced packaging manufacturing environment by performing preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting on production equipment and facility systems.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled, preventative, and emergency maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, AC/DC drives, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and document work in CMMS systems
- Support utility systems including lubrication and resin delivery equipment
- Track equipment issues and communicate updates with maintenance and production teams
- Maintain inventory records and report parts usage as needed
- Follow OSHA, MSS, SOP, GMP, and facility safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support additional maintenance projects and production needs as assigned
- Fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Exposure to production machinery, moving equipment, and industrial noise
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; manual lifting up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and troubleshooting on production lines; standing for 12 hours at one time
- PPE and sanitation procedures required at all times
- Follow OSHA, MSS, SOP, GMP, and facility safety standards
Minimum Requirements:
- PLC certification required
- 1+ year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with CMMS / work order systems
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, and material handling equipment
- High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Requirements:
- Technical degree in Mechanics, Electrical, or related field
- Welding and machining experience
- Packaging or converting industry experience
- $30–$35/hr based on experience
