Job Overview

Maintenance Technician | PLC Troubleshooting & Production Equipment Repair (Support production uptime through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and utility equipment.)

Location & Shift

Aurora, IL – Night Shift (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) 2‑2‑3 schedule. Pay: $30–$35 hr based on experience.

Role Summary

Randstad USA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Aurora, IL. This role supports a fast‑paced packaging manufacturing environment by performing preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting on production equipment and facility systems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled, preventative, and emergency maintenance on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, AC/DC drives, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections and document work in CMMS systems
  • Support utility systems including lubrication and resin delivery equipment
  • Track equipment issues and communicate updates with maintenance and production teams
  • Maintain inventory records and report parts usage as needed
  • Follow OSHA, MSS, SOP, GMP, and facility safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support additional maintenance projects and production needs as assigned
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to production machinery, moving equipment, and industrial noise
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; manual lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and troubleshooting on production lines; standing for 12 hours at one time
  • PPE and sanitation procedures required at all times
  • Follow OSHA, MSS, SOP, GMP, and facility safety standards
Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • PLC certification required
  • 1+ year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS / work order systems
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, and material handling equipment
  • High school diploma or GED required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Technical degree in Mechanics, Electrical, or related field
  • Welding and machining experience
  • Packaging or converting industry experience
